LEVI’S® VINTAGE CLOTHING
OUR ICONS
We’ve been refining the fit, fabric and features of Levi’s 501® Jeans and Trucker Jackets for over 100 years. Our stitch-for-stitch reproductions help tell an American story.
-
WHAT IS A STITCH-FOR-STITCH REPRODUCTION?
Levi’s® Vintage Clothing reproduces each of the most historically significant 501® Jeans and Trucker Jackets from the past 148 years *exactly* as they were when they were first introduced. Every detail is true to the original. The denims are recreated on vintage shuttle looms, the patterns are accurate to the last inch, and the garment itself is meticulously sewn true-to-era. Once the item itself is reconstructed, the exact packaging, including any hang tags or pocket flashers, is reprinted and affixed. Obsession? Totally.

THE TRUE BLUE COLLAR JACKET
Considered the unofficial uniform of the American working man (and Depression-era non-working man), this jacket is cut from rigid selvedge denim with a double-pleated front and a single chest pocket. It’s the first year the big “E” Red Tab™ is added to Levi’s® products.
-
THE JEAN FOR A CHANGING TIME
Levi’s® meets post-war demand with slimmer jeans still removed of details like suspender buttons, cinch and crotch rivet (good riddance!). Thanks to new double-needle technology, the Arcuate is no longer dependent on the skill of the sewing machine operator.
-
THE JEAN WITH A ZIP FLY
THE TRUCKER JACKET FOR NONCONFORMISTS
The Beat Poets offer visions counter to consumerism and a boxing legend throws his first punch. As Levi’s® expands to the East Coast, so does their denim offering. In 1954, Levi’s® introduces the 501® Z, a zippered version of the Shrink-To-Fit™ 501® Original.
-
THE JEAN FIT FOR REBELS
By 1955, 501® jeans have a more “anti-fit” in the seat, a fuller leg and a boxier silhouette reminiscent of the classic biker look. This is the first style to bear the leather-like “Two Horse Pull” patch, and the signature Red Tab™ now says LEVI’S® on both sides.
-
THE ICONIC ‘60S FIT
We took our Summer of Love-era 505™ Jeans from 1967 and recreated them for the new millennium. Unlike the 501® Original Fit Jeans, these slim-fitting jeans boast a zipper fly, pre-shrunk denim and a lower rise. We've even constructed it with a Talon zipper—our original zipper, manufactured since 1893.
