In 1967, the modern Trucker jacket as we know it was born in the form of the Type III Trucker.
It's become an icon since, beloved by everyone from cowboys to rock stars. Pinned, patched, torn – it’s the ultimate blank canvas for self-expression.
In 2005, in New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina, three schools combined to form a temporary school. The marching bands also merged and played together, giving hope to the community that the healing process had begun. To celebrate their story, we reunited the band members for one last hurrah.
The Type III Trucker might be 50 years old, but the Trucker jacket itself has been rooted in history for over a century – since the late 1800s. Trace its evolution through the years.
A leather-like label with the classic Levis® Two Horse quality guarantee is sewn into the inside back yoke of every jacket.
The jacket features sleeve, chest and pocket buttons made of stainless steel stamped with “LEVI STRAUSS & CO. SF CAL”.
The iconic Levi’s® Red Tab is sewn into the right front pocket seam.
Slanted seams starting at the chest pockets and running down to the waist allow the jacket to have a refined look.
Welt hand pockets give the jacket a seamless design.
Chest pocket and sleeve openings are held down with heavy duty bar tacks.
A separate inset back panel is stitched on every jacket, allowing the right and left seams to taper from back to waist rather than mirror the tapering on the front pocket seams.
On each side of the Trucker jacket are two straps that allow the wearer to adjust the fit of the jacket as needed.
Our Trucker jackets toughen up any look, every time. Choose from our range of Truckers for men, and wear an icon that lasts forever.
For women, we’re freshening up our original Trucker Jacket, inspired by the Type III from the 1960s. With a slim fit and an iconic, timeless look, no closet should be without this denim staple.
